Neymar's 'attitude' means he'll never be everyone's cup of tea.
Think back to some of the last Champions League action we saw, almost a month ago, and the Brazilian was getting pelters for mocking Borussia Dortmund's 19-year-old striker Erling Haaland.
Why? The teenager had apparently 'posted' a photo calling Paris 'my city' on Snapchat, though the caption ultimately turned out to be fake.
On the night of PSG's second leg against BVB, Neymar wasn't to know that.
After 28 minutes, when the forward gave his side the lead, he immediately sank to the turf and imitated Haaland's 'meditation' celebration. The whole squad then joined in the teasing at full-time.
One might argue that a player of Neymar's experience and profile ought to be above being rattled by a youngster.
Yet, it's precisely the 28-year-old's appetite for revenge that makes him the player he is.
Not only is RDHD's video of Neymar's 'revenge moments that shocked his opponents' a real treat on the eyes, it just goes to show he never forgets when he or his teammates have been slighted.
There are occasions in Ligue 1 when he pulls some of his finest tricks out of the bag against players who have just fouled him.
On other occasions, he's had to wait months - like when Liverpool's Sadio Mane ran him ragged with some fancy footwork back in 2018.
PSG won the return at the Parc des Princes 2-1 and best of all, Neymar got his revenge by doing exactly the same to the Reds forward.
It's not just a matter of personal ego, either.
When Barcelona's pride was badly bruised back in February 2017, it's no coincidence that their then number 11 was at the very heart of their 6-1 triumph in that history-making second leg, scoring twice after the 88th minute and also chipping in with an assist.
So whatever is said about how he's sometimes conducted himself since his world-record move to PSG, neutrals wouldn't have him any other way.
