Ivan Rakitic isn’t the most popular player among Barcelona supporters - and that was even before he ‘disrespected’ Lionel Messi on Instagram. The Croatian’s performances this season have led to widespread criticism and his departure from the Camp Nou could come when the transfer window opens. And, even in this coronavirus lockdown, Rakitic has managed to further upset Barcelona fans with a post on Instagram. The 32-year-old took a trip down memory lane by posting throwback photos of Croatia’s 3-0 win over Argentina at the 2018 World Cup.It was a good day for Rakitic, who scored Croatia’s third goal. But one of the photos Rakitic posted showed him dribbling past Messi, with Argentina’s star man left rooted to the floor. It’s certainly not a very good look for Messi. While it’s hard to imagine there was any malicious intent, Rakitic’s post has irritated Messi supporters.Indeed, some believe he’s even confirmed his exit from Barcelona with his post.

Messi doesn’t want any reminding of the 2018 World Cup.

Argentina managed to reach the knockout stage but they were beaten in the round-of-16 by eventual winners France.

Messi managed just one goal in the tournament as his international heartache continued.

Rakitic, meanwhile, enjoyed a fantastic tournament, Zlatko Dalić leading Croatia all the way to the final.

Coronavirus has left most of the football world at a standstill, but Rakitic has attempted to maintain his fitness levels with daily workout routines with Barcelona’s fitness coach.

"I have a gym at home and my wife is also very hooked,” he told Barcelona’s official channels, per AS

“We go every day, some days in the morning and afternoon and the girls also enjoy it.

"We have set up as a game room in the gym and they can play and we can train. Each [Barcelona] fitness coach has a group of players that he works with.

"I am with Antonio and I ask him what we have to do, when we have to work harder on the treadmill and on the bike.

“We are in daily contact, they are very aware of everything and they have an answer."

Rakitic will be hoping that Messi isn’t orchestrating his exit from Barcelona as we speak.
