Cristiano Ronaldo has moved into a breathtaking luxury villa on the island of Madeira near the quiet fishing village of Canical, according to the Sun.
The Juventus superstar decided to leave his £7 million luxury apartment in Funchal and relocate his partner Georgina Rodriguez along with his four kids.
The 35-year-old has now rented the villa for £3,500-a-week, with photos showcasing the luxuries he will enjoy throughout the coronavirus lockdown. These amenities include an olympic-sized swimming pool, top-floor games room with a snooker table, and six bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms.
The residence also has a private gym, two kitchens and a playroom which Ronaldo’s four children have no doubt taken over.
It is described on local property website Madeira-legacy.com as ‘very private’ and the ‘ideal holiday home for a family or group of friends.’
Additionally, there is a living room fit for a king, a dining area as well as a barbecue station outside.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner posted a clip via his Instagram page yesterday revealing his lavish surroundings, as he and his girlfriend took it in turns to sprint up a steep incline.
The caption alongside the video read: ‘My beautiful training partner! #stayactive #stayhome.’
Correio da Manha’s magazine Vidas quoted a source revealing: “He felt he needed space, that he was getting a bit stifled inside four walls.
“This new place has a big garden and more privacy of course. Cristiano is very used to having a quiet life.”
Ronaldo’s mother Dolores Aveiro, who is currently recovering from a stroke, is understood to have stayed on in Funchal as she undergoes further treatment.
Canical, a half-hour drive east of Funchal, is home to around 6,000 people. It was the centre of the whaling industry until the early eighties and has a number of iconic museums.
Ronaldo has regularly updated his 211 million followers on Instagram regarding his lockdown activities, with football indefinitely suspended due to the COVID- 19 pandemic.
Earlier this week, the former Manchester United forward invited fans to attempt the ‘core crusher challenge,’ after he shared a clip of his incredible 142 reps in just 45 seconds.
