WWE have today announced the release of both members of The Revival Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder. In a very short statement on their official website, all WWE wrote was: "Effective today, Friday April 10, 2020, WWE and The Revival have agreed on their immediate release from WWE. We wish them all the best in their future endeavours."It's been very well documented over the past year or so that both members of The Revival were unhappy with their roles within the company, especially knowing that they could be big-time players elsewhere, without mentioning any names... AEW.Now, both Dawson and Wilder will be free agents with immediate effect, meaning they could make a swift move to other brands. The Revival won the Raw tag team titles on two separate occasions, and they also won the SmackDown tag team titles once. They also had relative success in the developmental brand of NXT, winning the NXT tag team titles twice. In the ring, not many tag teams come close to either Dawson or Wilder, but it seems that WWE truly struggled to make the best out of them ever since they moved up to the main roster.Their in-ring ability is up there with the very best, but they were never truly used in great storylines or feuds, and were more often than not seen as the joke act.

No doubt they will end up elsewhere in the near future and showcase to the world just how talented and skilled they are.

Unsurprisingly, a lot of fans in WWE's mentions after posting the above tweet were quick to criticise them for losing The Revival, with some stating how they failed to use them correctly.

A lot of other remarks were quick to point out Cody Rhodes is waiting for them at AEW. Time will tell.
