The Premier League was approaching it's conclusion when the season was postponed due to the coronavirus.
Every team has 10 games or fewer left, meaning players have had more than enough time to make that mark this campaign.
Kevin De Bruyne, Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane were three men that had impressed before the coronavirus epidemic put a stop to games.
Speaking to the Premier League, Alan Shearer has selected all three of those in his team of the season so far.
But who else makes it into his XI?
GK: Dean Henderson
Henderson has been brilliant for a Sheffield United side that has the second best defence in the Premier League. The English youngster has kept 10 clean sheets this term and makes it into the side instead of Alisson Becker.
"He has bravery and confidence beyond his 23 years. He is a star in the making," Shearer said of the stopper.
RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold
Alexander-Arnold has 14 assists this season, which is extraordinary for a defender.
He's also helped Liverpool to 12 clean sheets and the best defence in the league.
CB: Virgil van Dijk
Van Dijk is now comfortably the best defender in the world. As well as being a rock in defence, he's also contributed four goals.
"A complete central defender. Van Dijk combines athleticism, power and an ability to read the game in leading the Liverpool backline," he said.
CB: Jonny Evans
This could be considered a surprise inclusion. Shearer has gone for Evans over Leicester teammate Soyuncu or Liverpool's Joe Gomez.
"Strong in the air, comfortable with the ball at his feet and a great leader, Evans has played a crucial role in the Foxes' quest for a top-four finish," he wrote.
LB: Andy Robertson
Robertson is now one of the, if not the best left-back in the world.
Shearer said of the Scotsman: "Does he ever run out of gas? Robertson's tenacity spreads throughout the whole team and he provides a key outlet in attack for the Reds."
CM: Jordan Henderson
Henderson has been under-appreciated in the past few years. He's now the favourite for the PFA Premier League Player of the Year award and is finally getting the recognition he deserves.
"Hugely important to Liverpool," Shearer wrote. "A tireless worker with superb ball-winning skills. What really stands out are his leadership skills."
CM: Kevin De Bruyne
Just the 18 assists for De Bruyne this season. He looks set to break his record of 21 assists, recorded in the 2016/17 campaign.
If it weren't for Liverpool's dominance this campaign, he would be the overwhelming favourite to win the Player of the Year award.
RW: Sadio Mane
Mane's 14 Premier League goals this season have been crucial in Liverpool opening up a 25-point lead at the top of the table.
"Rapid, powerful and deadly in front of goal, the Senegalese has been unplayable at times this campaign," Shearer said.
LW: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Aubameyang has been sensational again this season, despite Arsenal's struggles.
The Gabonese striker has been shifted out to the left for much of the campaign but has still notched 17 Premier League goals.
ST: Sergio Aguero
Aguero has 16 Premier League goals in 16 starts this season, having scored a goal every 88 minutes of game time.
Had he been involved more regularly, he would be well clear in the race for the Golden Boot.
ST: Jamie Vardy
Vardy is now 33 years old but remains one of the best strikers in the Premier League.
He currently leads the race for the Golden Boot with 19 goals.
Not a bad team, that.
There are some decisions that raise eyebrows, though.
Alisson doesn't make into the side, with Henderson preferred. Bernd Leno, Nick Pope and Vicente Guaita are other goalkeepers who are having good seasons.
As noted above, Evans is a controversial choice, with James Tarkowski, Gomez or Soyuncu other players in the running to be named in the Team of the Year.
And Mohamed Salah doesn't make the side, with Aubameyang preferred.
