Liverpool’s team doesn’t have any glaring weaknesses.
They have one of the finest goalkeepers in the world, a defence that includes Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, a reliable midfield and an attacking trio that scores goals for fun.
Jurgen Klopp will be keen to add competition and depth to his squad when the transfer window opens, though - whenever that may be.
The Reds have been linked with Sevilla defender Diego Carlos and RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner, among other names.
So, what can we expect Liverpool’s starting line-up to look like at the start of next season?
The Mirror have used Football Manager 2020 to simulate the transfer window and the results were very interesting.
Players in
Liverpool made four signings in the simulation, splashing out £65.25 million on new players.
Virtual Klopp spends £48.5m on Borussia Dortmund left-back Raphael Guerreiro, who will give Andy Robertson competition.
Interestingly, Liverpool have been linked with a move for Guerreiro in real life.
Next to arrive is the highly-rated French attacking midfielder Yacine Adli. The 19-year-old is signed in a bargain £2.5 million deal from Bordeaux.
They also sign former Middlesbrough player Viktor Fischer.
Fischer, now 25, is bought for £8.5m from Copenhagen.
Braga’s 23-year-old midfielder Andre Horta is the fourth player to arrive. Liverpool pay £5.25m for him.
So Liverpool add a left-back and depth to their midfield, but Klopp decides against adding another centre-back.
Players out
Liverpool don’t balance the books, recouping just £3.6m in player sales.
Ovie Ejaria joins Reading for £3m and Sunderland pay £450,000 for Nathan Phillips.
Several players leave on loan, including highly-rated youngsters Ki-Jana Hoever (Shrewsbury) and Sepp van den Berg (Coventry).
Ben Woodburn (Perugia) and Marko Grujic (Napoli) also leave on loan.
In total, 18 players leave Anfield either permanently or on loan.
