Ronda Rousey made her much anticipated WWE debut back in 2018, appearing at the end of the women’s Royal Rumble to confront match-winner Asuka and Charlotte Flair.However, Rousey was never happy with the reception she received from the WWE universe after they turned on her due to comments she had made about the business.Since her WWE days, Rousey has since settled down with a family and has stated she isn’t ready to spend a long time away from them for 'fun fake fights'.Whilst speaking to Steve-O on his podcast ‘Wild Ride!’ Rousey stated that she loves the WWE and that she’d enjoyed her time with the company, before further stating that she loved all the girls in the locker room too, despite her having some heat with Charlotte Flair."It was just not worth it for my family because we were eliminating all of our expenses and living this lifestyle, we didn’t need it. We didn’t need the money.”Rousey states that her time with the WWE really ate into her time with her family, as she didn’t have much free time due to the company’s busy schedule, with them having many ‘house shows’ as well as the main Raw and SmackDown shows to present and also the occasional PPV.“So it’s just like... what am I doing it for if I’m not being able to spend my time and energy on my family, but instead spending my time and my energy on a bunch of f***ing ungrateful fans that don’t even appreciate me?”"I love performing. I love the girls. I love being out there but, at the end of the day, I was just like, f*** these fans, dude."It’s comments that Rousey makes about the business like “fun fake fights” which made the fans turn against her and unfortunately for Rousey those fans have a right to voice their opinions as they pay good money to watch said “fun fake fights.”
"My family loves me, and they appreciate me and I want all my energy to go into them. So that was my decision at the end of the day.”
Rousey also stated that she suffered injury problems whilst working with the WWE, stating that before she had signed with the company she had a broken vertebra in her lower back, which meant while she was home from WWE duties she mainly spent her time recovering.
So between this and wanting to put her energy on focusing on her family, she states the decision she made was an easy choice.
Rousey still had a somewhat successful career in the WWE, although it was a short one.
After her first match back at WrestleMania 34 she would later go on to win the Raw Women’s Championship at that years SummerSlam, which in turn would make her the only woman to ever win titles in both the UFC and the WWE.
