Floyd Mayweather has again addressed rumours of a comeback in the ring after laughing off Marcos Maidana’s claim that he knocked out his tooth during their rematch that took place back in 2014.

Maidana claimed recently on social media that he had a memento from their fights which was in fact one of Mayweather’s teeth.

However, the man known to many as ‘Money’ after an extremely lucrative career, denied Maidana’s outlandish claim at the time.

“In the third round, when he hit me with that shot after the bell, it was a real good shot. It got my attention.

No, he didn’t knock my teeth out. Not at all! He’s a strong guy, he’s a good puncher, but no, as far as my teeth missing, absolutely not.”

It has been a turbulent few weeks for Mayweather after the tragic passing of both the mother of his kids, and his uncle and former trainer Roger Mayweather.

The American has long teased fight fans with the potential for a comeback to the ring as we approach almost three years since his last fight against Conor McGregor.

A much-rumoured rematch with Manny Pacquiao was on the cards before the coronavirus outbreak halted the sport globally.

There have also been rumours of another crossover fight, this time with UFC lightweight king Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Mayweather has been showcasing his speed and conditioning skills in his gym on social media and appears to be as sharp as ever at the age of 43.

Mayweather was also quoted as saying that the death of his uncle Roger has encouraged him to think seriously about becoming a trainer.

“Due to the recent passing of my uncle Roger, I’ve felt inspired to help those around me the same way they have been there for me throughout my boxing career."

Fight fans are desperate for news of great fights to look forward to after the coronavirus outbreak has eased. With many rumours circling about his next move, all eyes will be on ‘Money’ as he decides what to do next.
