WWE will continue to run live shows amid the coronavirus crisis, after being deemed an essential business by the state of Florida.

The sports entertainment company have been given the green light to air weekly programming from their Performance Center in Orlando

But they will reportedly be without their top star for a while.

Per Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Roman Reigns will not be returning in the immediate future.

In fact, WWE has even left it up to The Big Dog himself to decide when to come back.

Reigns has been off television since March 20 and pulled out of WrestleMania over health fears.

As a leukaemia survivor, he is potentially immunocompromised and is at greater risk during the coronavirus pandemic.

It was Braun Strowman who took his place in the Universal Championship match at WrestleMania 36, beating Goldberg on night one.

WWE appears to be making alternate plans for SmackDown's top title, setting up a feud between The Monster Amongst Men and The Fiend.

That will no doubt be exciting given the history between Strowman and Bray Wyatt, but fans will be left thinking that if the circumstances were different, Reigns would be Universal champion right now.

In fact, the fact he's missing shows just how much potential danger there is to continue during the coronavirus outbreak.

Despite that, WWE remains committed to providing live entertainment for their fans. A recent statement from the company reads:

"We believe it is now more important than ever to provide people with a diversion from these hard times.

"As a brand that has been woven into the fabric of society, WWE and its Superstars bring families together and deliver a sense of hope, determination and perseverance."

On one hand, WWE should be praised for trying to provide an escape for millions around the world. But, by potentially putting the health of their staff at risk, we have to question if it's really worth it.
