There may be no football going on but that hasn’t stopped Graeme Souness from calling out Paul Pogba once again. To be fair, the Sky Sports pundit was only responding to comments from the Manchester United midfielder in the first place. In an official Manchester United podcast, Pogba was asked about the criticism he often received from Souness on Sky Sports. To which the Frenchman claimed he didn’t really know who the Liverpool legend was."I didn’t even know who [Souness] was," Pogba said."I heard he was a great player and stuff like that. I don't know the face but the name [I do]."Like I said I’m not someone that watches a lot of [punditry], I watch a lot of football but I don’t stay after the game to listen to what they say about ‘Why they did this’ or ‘why they did that’. I like to focus on football."On Tuesday morning on the Sky Football Show, presenter David Jones and Jamie Carragher were only too excited to get Souness’ thoughts on Pogba’s comments.

Carragher suggested Pogba was “below the belt” in claiming he’d never heard Souness.

But Souness admitted he was “happy” to hear Pogba talking about him.

But he simply couldn’t resist replying with a barb about trophies.

"The oldest saying in football comes to mind, put your medals on the table…and I’ve got a big table,” he said.

Souness won five First Division titles, three League Cups, three Charity Shields and three European Cups at Liverpool. He also picked up the Second Division title at Middlesbrough, the Coppa Italia at Sampdoria and the Scottish Premier Division and Scottish League Cup at Rangers.

As for Pogba, he hasn’t done too badly with four Serie A titles, two Coppa Italias, two Supercoppa Italianas with Juventus. While he won a League Cup and Europa League with Manchester United. Oh and there’s the World Cup too.

With no football to watch, Souness vs Pogba might be the entertainment we need to get us through the next few weeks and months.
