UFC star Colby Covington has confirmed he's hoping to transition to WWE in 2021.

The controversial MMA fighter has a persona and skill set that appears tailor-made for the squared circle and he's now hoping to cash in.

He's even been brushing up on his 'promo and mic skills' ahead of a potential move.

"I would say probably 2021," Covington told SB Nation's 'What the Heck' show, per ESPN.

"Not this summer, but next summer. I've been practising moves and really working on my promo and mic skills and just control and slowing things down and understanding the art of wrestling.

"I want to make sure when I go there I make the biggest splash possible because I'm not here for a long time, I'm here for a good time, and I'm not here to make friends, I'm here to make money.

When I go over there I want to make Brink's truckloads of money.

Covington went on to say he met up with UFC turned WWE star, Ronda Rousey, recently.

She expressed her enthusiasm for the pro wrestling business and told him how much easier life is as a WWE superstar, compared to UFC fighter.

That suggestion is a stark contrast to what Rousey's been saying recently, isn't it?

'Chaos' also claimed he's got the skill set to ensure his transition into WWE is a smooth one.

"I think I'm going to have a good grasp of it," he continued.

"I grew up amateur wrestling and I know how to act, I know how to sell, and everybody knows I know how to entertain, so I think it's going to be a smooth transition when I go to the WWE in 2021."

While Covington will likely have to get permission from UFC to perform in WWE due to his contract status, the suggestion that he wants to be involved in pro wrestling next year will certainly excite fans.
