Real Madrid intend to sign Erling Haaland in 2020 and Kylian Mbappe in 2021

It’s no secret that if Real Madrid want to dominate Spanish football again, they’ll need some new attacking reinforcements to help them do it.

They’ve not quite recovered from the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo, and while Frenchman Karim Benzema continues to impress, he could do with a partner to get the very best out of him.

Serbian international Luka Jovic was brought in to fill the gap, but it’s safe to say that the decision hasn’t worked out the way anybody hoped – he’s only scored 2 in his first 15 for Real.

So, Real Madrid have wasted no time and told their scouts to cast a keen eye over Europe, to spot those players who could help them spark fear within opposition defences once again.

And they haven’t had to look too hard to identify and begin to target two of the most exciting young forwards playing in Europe right now – Erling Braut Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Real Madrid intend to have both Haaland and Mbappe at the Bernabeu by 2021, and they already have a plan to make it happen.

Norway international Haaland has attracted a swarm of eager admirers with his explosive form at Borussia Dortmund, so Real know that they can’t afford to wait around for his signature.

It is understood that their intention is to secure Haaland this summer by paying his £66 million release clause at Dortmund, which would allow contract talks to begin in earnest.

This move makes sense whichever way you think about it. Haaland could both partner Benzema in a devastating front two, and lead the line himself when the 32-year-old moves on.

If the prospect of Haaland at Real wasn’t exciting enough, they also intend to bring PSG forward Kylian Mbappe to the Bernabeu in 2021.

With PSG already reportedly concerned about Neymar’s future, and the coronavirus crisis still spreading, Real know that they’ll have to be more patient for this transfer to happen.

By 2021, Mbappe will only have a year remaining on his contract at PSG, so Real will be hoping that the French club will be open to selling to avoid losing him for free in 2022.

Given that Haaland and Mbappe are just 21 and 19-years-old respectively, the future certainly looks bright at the Bernabeu with these deals on the cards.
