Gareth Bale's career at Real Madrid appears to be nearing its end.The Welshman is sadly more of a comical figure at the Bernabeu now rather than the world-class talent he is.Poor form and a lack of faith from management down the years now means Bale is a squad player at best, but we should never forget just how good he was for Los Blancos upon his arrival.Bale was signed from Tottenham for around £85m in the summer of 2013 and enjoyed a stunning debut campaign, winning the Copa Del Rey and the Champions League. The Welshman scored in the final of both competitions and his strike in the final stage of the former against Barcelona is the stuff of legend. In the 85th-minute, with the score locked at 1-1, Bale dismissed any notion of tiredness and turned on the afterburners to leave poor ol' Marc Bartra for dead.

Cristiano Ronaldo going absolutely bonkers in the stands of the Mestalla as Bale turns into an F1 car, what a moment.

The way Bale takes to the other side of the tram lines, eats up the ground and bursts past a weary Bartra is simply remarkable.

To have the composure to finish after such a lung-bursting sprint - which was clocked at 21.54mph as well, what a player.

Even Usain Bolt was waxing lyrical about Bale's speed, saying: "A goal any sprinter in the world would like to score. He's the fastest footballer in the world."

When asked to try and describe his masterpiece after the game, The Real Madrid winger simply said: "I actually scored a similar goal for Wales not too long ago where I had to run off the pitch so I was just trying to get round him any way I could and carry on.

"Thankfully, the goal came at the end of it. The only thing I was thinking was that I had to get round him. I just had my eyes on the ball."

Amazingly, it's not even Bale's greatest ever goal in a final, that accolade will always belong to THAT overhead kick versus Liverpool. He loves the big stage does Gareth!
