Seth Rollins has become the voice of the WWE locker room in recent months.Whenever there's been outrage within the WWE Universe, it's usually Rollins who comes out on behalf of WWE and defends the company.Unsurprisingly, he's done that again after tough decisions were made on Wednesday to release a lot of talent and staff due to coronavirus.The likes of; Kurt Angle, Rusev, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, No Way Jose, Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins, Sarah Logan and many, many more all lost their jobs due to the ongoing pandemic.Vince McMahon was part of a conference call on Wednesday morning when he announced that cuts had to be made due to the virus, and that ultimately led to many individuals sadly losing their jobs with the company.On-screen and off-screen workers were sacrificed, and it's safe to say the WWE Universe were unhappy to see so many talented workers pay the price.Twitter was a sad place on Wednesday evening, with fans and even superstars reacting to the ongoing news that people were losing their jobs.However, Rollins took to his Instagram to do a Live video where he admitted that he was upset about the 'negativity' and 'hostility' being aimed at WWE due to the decisions.During the video, the former Universal Champion said: “It is just a difficult day for all of us. My heart is broken for the guys and girls who I’m really close with who have had it the worst today.
“That goes for the talent that you guys love on-screen, but also everyone backstage too, off-screen, who may not get the social media fanfare that some of the talent is getting.
But one thing I am seeing that is a little upsetting to me is all the negativity and hostility towards WWE.
“This is a difficult day for everyone, for all of us, and I think if ever there was a moment for us to unify, for us to band together and try to do the best we can to keep this business alive the best we know how, this is that moment.
“I think pointing fingers or saying, ‘you should have done this, you should have done that’ is, I don’t know, it just doesn’t feel like the time or the place for it.”
Unfortunately for Rollins, his comments haven't gone down too well with the majority of fans.
A lot of them have responded to the video by saying firings were not needed, with one fan stating: "WWE had a half a BILLION dollars set aside for this exact scenario. Not going to feel bad for that company anymore."
Another posted: "Man, this guy's social media game is rough. The reason people are outraged is this is being done after some wrestlers risked their health to go to work Monday and WWE still has hundreds of millions of dollars."
Whether you agree with Rollins or not, it is a truly tough time for WWE and for everyone because of the coronavirus, so maybe he's right, maybe we should try and support each other whilst times are tough.
Rollins did actually post a tweet about his comments, after plenty of WWE fans were not impressed with what he had to say.
