WWE has announced major changes to this year's Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

The men's and women's flagship matches will take place from WWE's Global Headquarters in Stamford, CT - with superstars battling to climb to the top of the 'corporate ladder'.

SmackDown commentators Corey Graves and Michael Cole were hyping the event as the most unique ever.

An announcement on WWE's official website reads:

"This year’s WWE Money In The Bank Men’s and Women’s Match participants will have an even more unique challenge ahead of them than usual.

"The match begins on the ground floor of WWE Headquarters, but the briefcases - containing contracts for a championship match anytime, anyplace - will be hanging all the way up on the roof of the corporate tower."

As of writing, these are the only details we have for this year's Money in the Bank, but more will be released in the coming weeks.

The pay-per-view is still scheduled for Sunday, May 10. Check out a poster for the event below:

Competitors are beginning to earn their places for each MITB match on SmackDown and RAW. So far, the men's looks like this:

Daniel Bryan vs Rey Mysterio OR Murphy vs Aleister Black OR Austin Theory vs Apollo Crews OR MVP vs Drew Gulak OR King Corbin vs TBD.

The picture for the women's match is much more clear:

Asuka vs Shayna Baszler vs Nia Jax vs Dana Brooke vs Lacey Evans OR Sasha Banks vs TBD.

The remaining places will be decided by qualifiers on WWE weekly programming over the coming weeks.

Friday's episode of SmackDown also confirmed two title matches for the Money in the Bank PPV.

As expected, Braun Strowman will defend his Universal Championship against Bray Wyatt, while Bayley puts the SD Women's title on the line vs Tamina.
