United's double swap for EPL stars

The Manchester Evening News is reporting that Sir Alex Ferguson is set to make a possible swap of Wes Brown and Danny Welbeck for either Jack Rodwell or Jordan Henderson, with both youngsters long linked to Ferguson’s summer wishlist.

Ferguson reportedly put in a £20 million offer for Henderson, but Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has told the United legend he’s not interested.


Welbeck and Brown might be able to change the Black Cat manager’s mind though, with with Welbeck shining in his loan spell for Sunderland this season. The 20 year old has scored six goals in 22 appearances, and Bruce is reportedly keen on holding onto the wonderkid.

Welbeck coupled with Brown’s defending abilities might poise an offer that Bruce can’t refuse, particularly with reports surfacing that Manchester United have a budget of over £150million to spending the summer transfer period.

Manchester Evening News says sources believe the same offer is on the table for Everton with Rodwell, and Ferguson is waiting to see if either side will bite and accept a transfer deal.
