Picking the greatest club side of the last century is a near enough impossible task.There have simply been an endless supply of memorable teams, but BT Sport decided to host a tournament pitting a selection of the greatest sides against each other.Fans would then vote in separate matchups to try and determine which team is the greatest of the past 100 years of footballing action.The final came down to Pep Guardiola's treble-winning Barcelona side of 2008/09 against Celtic's quadruple-winning team of 1966/67.After 187,000 votes from fans in the final, BT Sport have revealed that it's Celtic who have won, with 'The Lisbon Lions' just edging out Barca in a re-vote.
Celtic were the first British side to win the European Cup back in 1967, adding that trophy to their domestic treble of Scottish Premiership, Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup.
The legendary Scottish outfit received 740,000 votes in total throughout BT Sport's virtual tournament.
Celtic's European triumph in Lisbon saw them defeat a heavily defensive Inter Milan team.
Jock Stein's iconic side simply had too much attacking power and eventually prevailed 2-1 thanks to goals from Thomas Gemmell and Stevie Chalmers after Inter had taken a seventh-minute lead.
That squad - which comprised of 14 Glasgow natives - is often regarded as one of the greatest ever, but it is intriguing to still see them dethroning some of the more recent greats.
Guardiola's treble winners of 2008/09 revolutionised the game, while Manchester United (1998/99), Inter Milan (2009/10) and Bayern Munich (2012/13) also replicated Barcelona's achievements of securing the three biggest trophies in one season.
