A short clip has surfaced via Twitter showcasing the attacking power Liverpool could have if they were to sign Timo Werner.
The video below shows the potentially devastating skill-level that Liverpool’s front-three would have if you combined Werner’s lethal marksmanship with the collective creativity and speed of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
Werner has been in sensational form this season for Leipzig, netting 27 goals and providing 12 assists in all competitions.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a known fan of the German international and is expected to make a move for him this summer.
In fact, Werner is reportedly so confident of an imminent move to the Premier league, he is taking English classes to boost his knowledge of the language, according to talkSPORT.
However, the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic has led some people to suggest that there won’t be as much spending in the top flight of English football, so the Kop may have to wait patiently before they see Werner don the famous red jersey at Anfield.
Even with stiff competition from the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona, Liverpool remain the frontrunners to sign the dynamic forward with meetings reportedly scheduled between Klopp and the 24-year-old, according to numerous sources in Germany.
Liverpool’s ties with Werner stem back as far back as 2017 and now they have catapulted themselves to the front of the queue for his signature as Klopp remains concerned with his forward options should Firmino suffer an injury.
The German international has returned the interest in kind, having flirted with the idea on more than one occasion, previously stating that he was ‘proud’ to be linked with ‘the best team in the world.'
The 24-year-old striker will be one of the most coveted players when the transfer window eventually opens, with a reported release clause in his contact of circa £50 million.
And given the numerous clubs of interest, Liverpool will likely have to break the bank if they want to lure the coveted German to the north-west of England.
