Yaya Toure delivered one of the finest ever individual seasons for Manchester City in 2013/14.

A bona fide club legend at the Etihad Stadium, Toure's legacy in the north-west has perhaps only been hampered by his ill-judged decision to stick around upon Pep Guardiola's arrival.

And although a third Premier League title seemed a perfect note on which to depart, the fact Toure was only handed 17 appearances during his final campaign made it a tad underwhelming.

But even if Toure wasn't given the hero's exit his performances deserved, those early days at City will live long in the memories of supporters and no more so than the aforementioned 2013/14 term.

It might have been six years since the season in question, but barely a month goes by where the instantly-recognisable Sky Sports graphic of his statistics aren't uploaded to social media.

Yaya Toure's iconic season

Toure scored a staggering 20 goals from midfield as the Citizens, newly under the rule of Manuel Pellegerini, pipped Liverpool to the Premier League crown.

Ten of those goals remarkably came from set-pieces - from just 13 attempts, by the way - including stunning free-kick against Fulham, Norwich City, Newcastle United and Hull City.

The Ivorian smashed home a hat-trick during the home tie with Fulham, which included a goal of the season contender, as well as scoring at Old Trafford and in the 6-3 massacre of Arsenal.

Montage of Toure's brilliance

And as the title race hotted up to melting point in May, Toure effectively secured the silverware for City by scoring THAT goal against Aston Villa where he bombed forward from his own half.

Chuck in nine assists, 40 chances created, 2,205 successful passes, a pass success rate of 90% and yes, it would be fair to say Toure was pretty unstoppable in 2013/14.

But as much as the statistics have been drawing shares and 'likes' for the last half-decade, there's nothing quite like seeing the brilliant moments and skills behind the raw data.

So, courtesy of YouTuber 'FIFACREW', you can enjoy seven whole minutes of Toure tearing up the Premier League in his prime down below:

Men against boys. When Toure started to unravel his stride, defenders just seemed to bounce off him.

And although his massive frame has always led to praise for his 'physicality', those 2013/14 highlights prove that Toure had a deftness to his game you'd expect from players much smaller.

The City legend wouldn't smash a free-kick towards goal at 100mph, rather he'd curl the ball delicately over the wall - and that sort of impudence is also apparent in many of his dribbles.

However, it was his remarkable proficiency that made him so incredible that year and need anything speak more volumes than the fact he managed to outscore Sergio Aguero in the league.

In fact, Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez were the only players who racked up more goals and they were unburdened by the midfield responsibilities that Toure was dealing with.

In other words, we have seldom seen such an amazing, all-round season from one player in the Premier League and it could be years upon years before we ever witness it again.
