Boxing legend Mike Tyson believes that some of the tigers he owned during the height of his fame could have come from Tiger King’s Joe Exotic.
During Tyson’s boxing career he was well known for his big houses and big cats and he believes that some of the animals may have come from the eccentric Tiger King.
The Tiger King, Joe Exotic, was convicted on two counts of murder for hire in 2019, having plotted for Big Cat Rescue CEO Carole Baskin to be killed.
His rise and subsequent demise has been adapted into an eight-part Netflix series; which has now been watched by over 64 million people worldwide.
Despite this, Tyson seems to have a lot of respect for him.
"People always say these people are scumbags,” The Baddest Man on the Planet said.
“But these are amazing people with what they can do with their ingenious minds and control over other people’s minds. These guys are born leaders."
He believes that some of his animals may have indirectly come from the now-famous Exotic.
"It could have been, maybe where I got my cats could have got their cats from Joe. But I don’t know.
“If you are in the exotic animal world you are aware of him," Tyson added.
Tyson has now come to believe that he was naïve to keep big cats as pets he claimed in an Instagram live with rapper Fat Joe.
"I was foolish. There's no way you can domesticate these cats 100 per cent.
"There's no way that's going to happen. They'll kill you by accident, especially when you're playing rough with them, you're punching them back. They get hyped up, hit you back and you're dead."
