Tyson Fury is truly on top of the world at the moment.Since the explosive display that saw him dominate Deontay Wilder in February, Fury has been the name on the lips of every boxing fan.Fury was simply supreme under the Las Vegas lights, pummeling Wilder into a seventh-round stoppage as the American's team threw in the towel to avoid further punishment.It was nothing short of a masterclass and capped what can only be described as one of the greatest comebacks in sporting history.At one point, as he struggled with mental health issues, doping scandals and an out of control weight gain, it looked as though we had seen the last of Fury.Thankfully, those dark days are just a shadow in the rear-view mirror now. However, Fury may not be the only one to look back on those trying times with a twinge of regret, with mega-promoter Eddie Hearn recently revealing he turned down the chance to sign Fury to his promotion, Match Room Boxing.Both Hearn and Fury were attending a Monaco fight between Dereck Chisora and Agit Kabayel when Hearn was offered the opportunity to sign the troubled Gypsy King."I had a chance to sign him. I was in Monaco, I think I could have signed him.
"I didn't want to give him the fights that he wanted to take at the time, because I thought it was just too much money and the fights weren't good enough - and I probably should have done it, to be honest with you.
I looked at him and I thought, 'You ain't ever going to come back anyway, look at the size of you,' but he surprised everybody and how wrong I was
You were very wrong indeed, Eddie.
Although to be fair to Hearn, you can hardly blame him for taking one look at a massively out of shape, seemingly washed-up heavyweight and thinking there was no chance.
You can be certain that Hearn wasn't the only person to write Fury off as well which just makes his comeback story all the more remarkable.
