Two of the greatest keepers to ever stand in between the sticks went head to head in a poll - voted for by GiveMeSport fans - and Italian 2006 World Cup winner Buffon won the vote.
Despite a quite unbelievable career, Spanish 2010 World Cup winner Iker Casillas failed to beat Italian superstar Buffon.
Buffon, who is currently 42 years old, holds the longest streak without conceding a goal in Serie A with 12 games (974 minutes).
Although a quite dazzling career in goal for various clubs, Buffon also starred for his country. He is the most capped Italian by a long way, captaining his side 154 occasions having played just 176 games.
