WWE news: Vince McMahon's mindset backstage in WWE is reportedly now 'f*** it'

Vince McMahon made a surprise appearance on SmackDown last week.

He was part of the show’s closing segment, which celebrated Triple H’s 25 year anniversary with WWE.

But rather than paying tribute to The Game, it was more like a roasting.

Shawn Michaels played the key role, ripping into his former D-Generation X partner for various career ‘low-lights’.

Then McMahon appeared on stage and things got even stranger.

The boss praised his son-in-law, joked about his career, referenced the infamous Katie Vick storyline and even HHH’s involvement in the terrible Bayley: ‘This Is Your Life’ segment from 2017.

After all that, he told DX to wrap up the show and returned to the Gorilla Position as SmackDown went off the air.

Vince’s involvement in the closing segment left fans very confused, with plenty discussing his appearance on social media.

Many couldn’t work out if he was unintentionally all over the place with his crazy promo, or if he was playing a character of Mr McMahon to fit the mood of Triple H’s ‘celebration’.

Over the weekend, WrestleVotes provided some insight into the situation, by sharing a conversation with someone who appears to be a backstage source.

“That is what he’s been like the last 2 weeks or so I’m seeing,” the insider wrote of McMahon’s demeanour.

“Think this pandemic, Mania cancelled, XFL getting killed has finally got to him and he’s at the ‘f*** it’ part of it all. ‘Screw it Vince’ could be wild.”

Fasten your seatbelts WWE fans, because it looks like we’re in for a wild ride.

The idea that McMahon has reached this point certainly backs up reports from last week, which suggested his ‘bad moods’ have become a running joke and ‘source of laughter’ backstage.

But is it really surprising? The coronavirus pandemic, losing the XFL and having to completely change WrestleMania plans on short notice would be enough to tip anyone over the edge.
