FIFA 20: Sergio Aguero calls out EA Sports over having to buy packs on Ultimate Team

EA Sports' FIFA Ultimate Team is truly a gaming phenomenon.

Introduced back in 2009, the game mode is now the crux of the FIFA series and it has revolutionised the franchise and the sports gaming world.

However, its evolution in recent years has sparked much debate over the ethical approach of Ultimate Team.

The pressure on gamers to use real-life cash to purchase packs to attain the best players is essentially a form of gambling and there have been many stories of people becoming addicted to buying FIFA points.

The sad truth is that loyal fans of the series are rarely ever rewarded for investing their own money into the game, so much so that even Sergio Aguero has called out EA Sports.

Speaking on his Twitch channel, the Manchester City striker said: “If you want to get colourful cards, you've got to get FIFA Points and put your card in to buy packs. It is like that. Don't expect something from EA because they won't give you anything..."

Someone won't be getting any more special cards on FIFA 20...

Aguero's virtual adventures have been all over social media in the past few days and one clip of the striker playing FUT Champions went viral over the weekend.

The footage in question shows Argentine striker perfectly mimicking the reaction of his in-game character after missing a chance.

It really is uncanny, some elite realism from EA Sports.

And eagle-eyed fans spotted that the instrument holding up his PS4 camera is none other than one of his Premier League Player of the Month awards - and you've just got to love that.

Despite Aguero's love for FIFA 20, the highest scoring foreign player in Premier League history was not selected to represent Man City at the ePremier League invitational tournament.

That honour fell to Raheem Sterling, with the Englishman eliminated by Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold in the final four.
