Former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson was declared bankrupt back in 2003 and he was forced to sell his 52-room mansion to rapper 50 Cent for just £3.3 million pounds.

The self-proclaimed ‘baddest man on the planet’ had reportedly racked up a reported bill of £17 million and his luxury mansion in Connecticut was among the first of his possessions that he was forced to part with.

The Mansion was sold to the American rapper 50 Cent, otherwise known as Curtis James Jackson III, in a record sale for the area of Farmington at the time.

The sale took place in the same year as Tyson declared bankruptcy. At first glance, it easy to see why, the property boasted 25 bathrooms - including one, which overlooked the gardens, 21 bedrooms and two swimming pools.

In addition, the Mansion featured the ultimate entertainment areas for hosting friends with it’s own nightclub, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, poker tables and a recording studio.

The rapper went on to add $10 million dollars worth of renovations over the years including a disco with stripper poles and a helicopter pad.

Despite these impressive features the property has dropped in value over the years because of its excessive running costs. 50 Cent complained about expenses reported to be around £50,000 per month.

“When you have a property that is well outside the norm, it takes a lot longer to sell.”

Subsequently, the entertainer ended up following in the footsteps of Tyson and the two previous owners of this extravagant property after he had to file for bankruptcy, as he had to pay a reported $7 million dollars to a woman for posting her sex tape online.

It was finally sold for half its value to fast food business owner Casey Askar.
