Battlefield fans, we have some exciting news.
EA and DICE have confirmed that 'Battlefield 6' is on its way and will be sat on store shelves sooner than you might think.
DICE, EA's developer, are apparently placing the final touches to remastered versions of Star Wars Battlefront II and Battlefield V.
Therefore, with the fifth remastered instalment of Battlefield yet to be released, it demonstrates that EA is already thinking far into the future.
The EA developer confirmed that they are in fact currently working on the remastered edition of Battlefield V and they aim to complete their "vision" by completing the rejuvenated versions of the games previously mentioned.
However, in the meantime, it appears that the developers are attempting to fulfil their vision of recreating one of their iconic games but with the game being released this summer, this leaves their design teams with potentially a new project.
"The team at DICE is working on the standalone Battlefield V update releasing this summer, and continuing their work on delivering Community Games," EA stated.
"While the studio's vision for Star Wars Battlefront II is now complete with this week's The Battle on Scarif Update, the servers, in-game challenges, recurring events and game support will continue as the game lives on with players and the community.
We're looking forward to hearing players' stories for both games, for years to come.
"Longer term, the studio is focused on the future of Battlefield that we'll be bringing to players in 2021."
An element to consider is that EA may be purposely aiming to release the game in 2021 to allow the opportunity for Battlefield to be played on the Playstation 5 and the Xbox Series X.
