On his podcast this week, Peter Crouch discussed how the word ’sh*thouse’ has changed in recent times.
The retired Premier League striker made the point that it used to be an insult; a way of describing a footballer who would pull out of tackles, for example.
But now it’s used almost as a term of endearment to describe a player who gets under the skin of opponents.
These days, football fans love a sh*thouse - especially if they play for their club.
And one of our favourite new Twitter accounts is all about football sh*thousery, featuring some classic moments.
@FootyRustling - which is followed by the aforementioned Peter Crouch - already boasts over 75,000 followers since it was created in February.

Here we see the former Newcastle United defender mirroring Asmir Begovic in an attempt to distract the Stoke City goalkeeper.

According to Jose Mourinho, Manchester United won the treble in 2016-17: the League Cup, the Europa League and the Community Shield.
Following their victory over Ajax in the Europa League final, Mourinho made all of his players hold up three fingers - one finger for every trophy won that season.

With just five minutes left on the clock, Alvaro Morata had a golden opportunity to win the trophy for Atleti, only to be thwarted by Valverde.

We couldn’t talk about football sh*thousery without mentioning Emmanuel Adebayor.
The Togolese striker produced one of the most iconic Premier League celebrations after scoring for Manchester City against his former employers, Arsenal.
