NFL fan watches Paul Scholes for the first time and is left in disbelief

Manchester United v Bolton Wanderers - Premier League

Paul Scholes is one of the most talented midfielders of his - or any other - generation.

The Manchester United icon lit up English football over the course of his illustrious 20-year career thanks to his remarkable array of passing, vision and goalscoring ability.

Scholes won 11 Premier League titles, three FA Cups, two League Cups, the FIFA Club World Cup, the Intercontinental Cup and two UEFA Champions Leagues between 1993 and 2013.

He will always be remembered as one of the best players in United’s history as well as a true Premier League great.

However, there are some football fans who genuinely believe that Scholes’s reputation has been enhanced to such an extent since retirement that he’s now overrated.

For those of us who watched him throughout his career, this school of thought may seem more than a little strange.

It’s also worth remembering that this is a player whose footballing ability has been hailed by various legends of the game, including Pele, Xavi and Zinedine Zidane.

Manchester United '99 Legends v FC Bayern Legends

One NFL fan from America read some famous quotes from the aforementioned legends in an endearing video in which he reacts to watching Scholes for the first time ever.

The man in question - YouTuber TKS - couldn’t even pronounce Scholes’s name properly at the beginning of the video, proving that this really was his first time viewing the Ginger Prince in action.

As he watches some of Scholes’s best passes and goals, all TKS could do at times was sit in silence and shake his head in disbelief.

At one point, he says: “I’ve never seen passing like this, honestly, I never have. It’s blowing my mind.”

This provides a reminder of the joy that Scholes brought to millions of football fans around the world when he played.

It’s still special watching back his best moments now, but nothing beats that feeling of witnessing his best goals and passes for the first time.
