Liverpool still have no idea whether they will be crowned Premier League champions.
While other leagues have started to announce the fate of their seasons - with PSG named champions and Ajax denied the title - English football is still playing a waiting game.
That must be a gut-wrenching feeling for Jurgen Klopp's players, who were 25 points clear at the top of the table when the season was postponed.
Premier League officials are now tentatively discussing 'Project Restart' and games could potentially be played behind closed doors as early as June 8.
However, until there's an official announcement, talk will persist of the campaign being called off altogether.
The season could be declared null and void - and the Reds' hard work would go to waste - or they could simply be handed the title early.
Make no mistake, that would still be a bittersweet feeling. Liverpool want to earn the right to call themselves champions legitimately - and ideally in front of their fans - rather than with an asterisk forever marked against their first title in three decades.
That feeling has been summed up by Virgil van Dijk, who acknowledged a tweet by LA Lakers star LeBron James discussing calls to end the NBA season early.
James tweeted:
"Saw some reports about execs and agents wanting to cancel season??? That’s absolutely not true. Nobody I know saying anything like that. As soon as it’s safe we would like to finish our season. I’m ready and our team is ready. Nobody should be cancelling anything."
Van Dijk replied with a muscle emoji in agreement.
Other players, including Sergio Aguero, have expressed their reservation about returning too soon.
“The majority of players are scared because they have family, they have children, they have babies, parents,” the Manchester City striker said, via The Times.
It's no surprise Liverpool want to finish the season properly, even if that isn't possible for months with the coronavirus pandemic bringing huge uncertainty to everyday life going forward.
Nobody knows when it will be safe for football to return. The champions-elect just hope that they get the chance to lift their prize properly as soon as they can.
