As sports events are being postponed and halted all over the world, many sports fans will be delighted to see any positive sports-related news at the moment.

This time the news was broken by NBA superstar LeBron James who is the lead for Space Jam 2, the sequel to the popular Space Jam made almost 25 years ago, with basketball legend Michael Jordan being centre stage for that.

LeBron took to Instagram to tease the new title and logo of the movie in front of his 63.6 million followers.

The boomerang shows him donning a cap which reads “Space Jam: A New Legacy”.
Last year, Warner Bros.

shared details of Space Jam 2, stating that it will be released July 16, 2021. There has already been plenty of hype surrounding this next instalment, with LeBron sharing with NBA fans at last year’s All-Star Weekend in Charlotte that filming for the movie will start in the summer.

A fitting place to share the news with Michael Jordan being the owner of the Charlotte Hornets and being in attendance for that All-Star Weekend.

Nike have also shared their collection for Space Jam, showing off the uniforms that will be worn by both the Monstars as well as the Tune Squad.

LeBron has already begun recruiting stars around the league to join him in the movie, with his Lakers teammate Anthony Davis expected to be in the cast as well.

Huge names in the NBA and WNBA have also been mentioned for the cast including Damian Lillard, Klay Thompson, Chris Paul and Diana Taurasi.

A star-studded cast fit for this sequel that has been teased for years now is finally getting closer and closer.
