Sky Sports new advert features some of the UK’s most recognised and celebrated sports stars, calling on fans to continue to engage with sport from the safety of isolation.

The aim is to continue to inspire everyday people to maintain sport as part of their daily routine, whether that’s from the garden or even inside their home.

A number of sportswomen, including current undisputed lightweight champion of the world Katie Taylor, and former rookie golfer of the year Charley Hull appear in this commercial, with all fees donated to Sky’s charity partner The Youth Sport Trust who endeavour to help young people stay fit and healthy at home during lockdown.

Sky has partnered with The Youth Sports Trust for over 10 years now, with the charity now working with more than 20,000 schools across the UK and operating on a global level. The charity itself has 25 years of experience in pioneering new ways of using sport to improve children’s wellbeing, greater attainment and healthier lifestyles.

The charity’s chief executive officer Ali Oliver said of the partnership- “The Youth Sport Trust and Sky Sports share a passionate belief in the power of sport to change lives and unite us, even through the most difficult times.”

“We are phenomenally grateful to Sky Sports and the sportsmen and women who have made this generous gesture which will support our work to keep young people healthy, active and well during lockdown.”

Whilst the live action may have stopped, Sky are still finding plenty of ways to keep viewers entertained. Aside from exercises to practise at home, there have also been replays of some of the greatest events in recent sporting history. Ben Stokes talked us through his mindset during the closing stages of the greatest World-Cup final ever, whilst Rory McIlroy guided us through the last few holes of his Players Championship win last year. With plenty more still to come, Sky is doing its utmost to keep sporting fans engaged and connected all around the world.
