Liverpool supporters have been made to wait to see Jurgen Klopp’s side clinch the Premier League title. Before the coronavirus pandemic brought a halt to the season on March 13, the Reds were on the verge of winning their first title since 1990.But, as more sports around the world were announcing cancellations or postponements to events, the decision was made to halt professional football in England. At the time, Liverpool needed just two more wins to secure the title.Supporters had pencilled in March 21, the date they were due to face Crystal Palace, as the special date. But more than a month later and they’re still waiting.Among them is Mark Gretton, whose decision to get a tattoo celebrating Liverpool’s title looks even riskier now.Gretton got the tattoo in late January, after Klopp’s men defeated Wolves 2-1 to move 16 points clear.TOPSHOT-FBL-ENG-PR-WOLVES-LIVERPOOLHe was that confident that the title was done and dusted. But what he didn’t foresee was a global pandemic that would bring a halt to Liverpool’s march to the title. The tattoo reads: ‘Liverpool F.C. Premier League Champions 2019-2020’, and features the liver bird crest.

"I'm so confident now we've won it, that I got the tattoo done,” Mark told the Liverpool Echo.

"They've got to win it now, surely. I don't regret it one bit, I'm embracing it, I love it.

"My wife doesn't realise the league doesn't end until May, she think it's finished now!

"I've had lots of people telling me I've had the tattoo too early, and what will I do if it goes wrong?

"I guess I'll run for the hills if that happens! But I'm confident it's game over, it's got to be.

"Liverpool fans can be very pessimistic, but we need to savour this."

A penny for Mark’s thoughts now.

He’ll be pleased to hear that the Premier League are eager to complete the season.

And if they’re unable to do so, then Liverpool are still expected to be crowned champions, just as Paris Saint-Germain have been in France.
