Bristol City have extended Jordan Spence's loan from West Ham until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old will remain with the Championship club following a clutch of injuries to defenders at Ashton Gate.

The Robins already had Louis Carey, Liam Fontaine and Jamie McAllister in the treatment room before losing Steven Caulker to injury.

Caulker, on loan from Tottenham, sustained a season-ending knee injury and was sent back.

Spence has made four appearances during his initial one-month spell.

West Ham have a 24-hour recall option for the remainder of the deal.
