Games of Thrones star Hafthor Julius Bjornsson has broken the world record for the heaviest deadlift in history after successfully lifting an astonishing 501kg (1,105 pounds).The 31-year-old, who played ‘The Mountain’ in the HBO show, broke the record at his gym in Iceland.Bjornsson broke the previous record held by Britain’s Eddie Hall, who became the first man to lift 500kg in 2016.‘Thor’ made it look easy following two successful warm-up lifts of 420kg and 460kg.He broke the record by 1kg - but that’s still enough to earn him a place in the record books.Watch the lift here…
