Joe Rogan, The Rock and Khabib Nurmagomedov react to Mike Tyson’s show of unreal speed and power

2011 Winter TCA Tour - Day 2

The 53-year old Mike Tyson demonstrated he still has the blistering speed and ferocious power that made him the youngest world heavyweight champion this past Friday.

Tyson, who retired from boxing in 2005 following a seventh-round technical knockout defeat to Irishman Kevin McBride revealed last month that he was training as part of his plans to compete in a four-round exhibition fight for charity.

‘Iron’ Mike subsequently shared footage of his training on his social media channels and it has already received some stunning responses that echoed what boxing fans were thinking.

It seems that it is not just the boxing world that has been left stunned, as well.

Long time UFC commentator Joe Rogan, who has previously had Tyson on his podcast before, posted on Instagram:

“OH SHIT!!! Don’ get me excited about this!!!”

While UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov said:

“Can’t believe, this is another level!”

To top it off, WWE icon Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson said:

“My brother you got me ready to run through a MF wall now. To the gym I go.”

During an Instagram Live with US rapper TI Tyson said:

“I’ve been hitting the mitts for the last week.

“I want to go to the gym and get in shape to be able to box three or four-round exhibitions for some charities, make some money, help some homeless and drug-affected people like me.”

This recent training footage has also had some fans believing that Tyson could still beat former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder despite being retired from the sport for 15 years.

Tennessee Titans v Jacksonville Jaguars

Back in 2018 the 34-year-old Wilder claimed he would knock out a prime Mike Tyson.

In response to this and the latest Tyson training footage one fan said:

“Wilder is not beating Mike Tyson… Right Now…Let alone in his prime.”

Another fan on Twitter wrote:

“53-year old Mike Tyson would still beat Wilder inside three rounds.”

Lastly, this fan simply put:

“Exhibition or not, don’t get in the ring with Mike Tyson. This Mike knocks out Wilder inside a round!”
