Steven Gerrard had some brilliant performances in a Liverpool shirt.Arguably his most famous game in a Liverpool shirt came in the 2005 Champions League final against AC Milan.After a disastrous first-half performance, where the Reds trailed 3-0, Gerrard inspired his side to the most dramatic comeback of all-time.A year later, Liverpool's inspirational captain produced an incredible performance against West Ham in the FA Cup final.Gerrard assisted Djibril Cissé's goal with an incredible assist before scoring two extraordinary goals.He then dispatched his penalty, helping Liverpool to another famous final victory. The fact he had the final named after him expresses just how good he was.But, arguably, neither of those are probably his best performance ever.His greatest ever game for Liverpool may actually have been in a Premier League game against Newcastle in 2008.Liverpool romped to a 5-1 victory at St James' Park. Gerrard was, without doubt, the best player in a red shirt.Newcastle United v Liverpool - Premier LeagueHe was brilliant that day, scoring twice and grabbing an assist.Gerrard was so good that Rafael Benitez actually decided to take Gerrard off in the 70th minute.
