Hafthor Bjornsson is a rather large fellow, there is no denying it.

The Icelandic beast, who stands at a whopping six-foot-nine, rose to fame after taking up the role of 'The Mountain' in HBO's mega-hit TV series, Game of Thrones.

He was already a star in powerlifting circles, however, and has broken several mind-boggling world records during his career.

In fact, Bjornsson once again broke the deadlift world record only last night, roaring in victory after lifting a staggering 501 kilograms.

The previous owner of the record, Eddie Hall, immediately agreed to a fight with the TV star in what could prove to be one of the biggest combat sports events in history.

Bjornsson has some experience already though, after sparring with UFC superstar Conor McGregor back in 2018.

At first glance, it made for a comical spectacle, with Bjornsson towering over McGregor like, well, like a mountain. McGregor, however, seemed to think the spar went quite well for him.

"That's a big man! Six-foot-9, 400 pounds, and I still folded him up," said the Irishman.

"I was hitting him with some shots - I had to hit him with some shots. He was hitting me, trying to hit me as well," he told MMA Junkie.

"People say 'Oh, he was taking it easy.' He tried to grab me and tried to pull my head off and I defended - freed the head. I was like, 'this motherf*cker is so big, I have to start smacking him a few to the body."

The Mountain did not take too kindly to McGregor's comments over what he may have presumed was a bit of a friendly fight, and responded in kind with a terrifying call out.

"Bring me shorts and put us in a cage, and I'll fight him again," he told YouTube channel Off the Ball. "If I get a grab on him, it'll be over in 10 seconds."

It might be a good idea to stay out of Hafthor's way in future, Conor. Just ask Prince Oberyn why.
