WWE are ready to turn Apollo Crews heel.

The RAW Superstar has been given a lot of TV time in recent weeks following WrestleMania 36.

He had even qualified for the Money in the Bank ladder match and was a popular inclusion amongst fans.

But that opportunity was snatched away from him by Andrade, who injured Crews' knee during a United States Championship match on RAW last week.

It's believed to be a kayfabe injury - and one that plays perfectly into a heel turn.

According to WrestlingNews, some backstage in WWE have been trying to convince Vince McMahon that more can be done with Crews.

The plan now is to make him a heel, with a source telling the website:

"They are turning him. He was going to turn on [Chad] Gable before Vince decided to move him back to Raw."

Crews will be turned heel soon

WrestlingNews have also revealed that there's a push to make MVP manager of a stable.

Although it's not clear if Crews would be part of that group should it form - it would make a lot of sense.

The stable would likely be based around a group of underutilized wrestlers being told by MVP that they can become top stars - if they follow his guidance.

It's a suggestion we certainly wouldn't be against - and they would surely have some very interesting run-ins with Zelina Vega's recently formed stable.

Crews could come back as a heel from his injury

Crews, and the likes of Cedric Alexander and Ricochet, have all been pushed down the card in recent months, with McMahon appearing to become tired of them.

But backstage chatter suggests he's been convinced to give them another chance and Crews is now in line for his biggest push since debuting on the main roster.
