We’re not quite sure what’s going to happen to the transfer market during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.Every single club has seen their finances take a significant hit, whilst the value of players has also surely dropped. If the transfer window opens as usual, you’d imagine we’re in for an incredibly quiet few months of transfer activity. However, clubs may have already been in the process of negotiation a transfer before the whole world came to a halt. One of those deals may well have been Leroy Sane to Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga giants looked set to sign the Manchester City winger last summer until he tore his anterior cruciate ligament in the Community Shield and hasn’t played since. That hasn’t put off Bayern, though, who have waited potentially for him to regain fitness. That’s now the case with Sane being seen back in training before COVID-19 struck.FBL-EUR-C1-MAN CITY-TRAININGAnd they’re not waiting any longer. That’s because, according to German outlet Sport Bild, Sane has now agreed a five-year contract with Bayern.

As usual with modern day transfers, personal terms have been agreed and now comes the transfer fee.

Bayern have initially offered €40m (£35m) - which is £11m less than what City paid Schalke for Sane in 2016.

You’d imagine they will need to return with an improved offer.

But Bayern are confident of snapping him up for less than £60 million.

Just imagine a front-three of Sane, Serge Gnabry and Robert Lewandowski.

Many would see a fee of £60 million is cheap for a player of Sane’s standards, but former Bayern boss Jupp Heynckes believes it’s fair.

"For me, he has not yet made a breakthrough to becoming an absolute top player," Heynckes said.

“I think this is a player at a crossroads. Will he keep working hard on himself or will he remain just as an exceptional talent?

“He has to be ready to take the next big step because there is no use in flashing the talent from time to time.

“I also honestly tell you that I don’t consider the price justifiable.
