In these truly bizarre, difficult and, to be honest, quite monotonously boring times, it appears that 'Call of Duty' is trying to do their bit and alleviate the boredom of their fans.
Infinity Ward has unveiled a surprise to gamers as Double XP is now available across 'Modern Warfare' and 'Warzone' on all platforms, with it set to expire on May 8 at 6PM UK time.
In addition to the hours of freedom gamers now have, Infinity Ward has used this opportunity to apologise to its fans.
Infinity Ward confirmed the exciting announcement on Twitter by saying: "As a token of our appreciation for your patience while we worked on a few bugs over the weekend, we’ve turned on 2XP, 2X Weapon XP, and 2X Tiers, live now until Friday, May 8th!"
The previous weekend was in fact supposed to be a Double XP affair, but multiple bugs and server issues limited the playing time of gamers, which understandably left many of their fans frustrated.
Activision Support has since claimed that they fixed a number of issues prior to May 1, but a large number of fans still reported their frustrations over the weekend.
Therefore, Infinity Ward has attempted to rectify the situation by granting a Double XP period until the end of the week.
From one piece of good 'Call of Duty' news to the next, narrative director Taylor Kurosaki has teased to fans about the possibilities of a range of new features.
"Players have already discovered that there is a whole other part of Verdansk they haven't seen yet," he said.
"They have found clues, and that there is more than meets the eye in this city. Season 4 will unravel some of those mysteries and unlock some of them for our players."
Therefore, with Season 4 seemingly around the corner, fans will be looking to absorb the last pieces of action that Season 3 has to offer.
