WrestleMania 36 will live long in the memory for WWE fans... whether that be for good or bad.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, WWE were forced to stage 'Mania behind closed doors for the first time in its history, and it's safe to say it was a truly bizarre spectacle.

Not only was it behind closed doors for the first time ever, it was also spread over two nights for the first time ever too.

Saturday night saw some heroic moments like the Boneyard Match between The Undertaker and AJ Styles, whilst Sunday saw Edge return to competitive action for the first time in years.

However, the greatest moment of WrestleMania weekend for the majority of WWE fans was seeing Drew McIntyre reach the pinnacle of the company by defeating Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship.

After surviving an initial onslaught, the Scotsman turned the match on its head, and managed to successfully defeat The Beast Incarnate thanks to the prestigious Claymore Kick.

Seeing McIntyre dethrone Lesnar was what everyone wanted, so it's a massive shame that there could be no audience for the moment, and it's an even bigger shame for the wrestler himself that all of his peers weren't backstage to enjoy the moment with him.

However, he has recently revealed what it was like backstage after his triumphant moment, and he's discussed what it was like bumping into both Triple H and Vince McMahon with the title round his waist.

Whilst speaking to SportsKeeda, McIntyre said: "The backstage reaction was non-existent because of the setup there was nobody back there initially. So, it was kind of weird.

“But you know when I got to Mr. McMahon and Triple H and obviously, we had such minimal personnel there, the people who were there especially, the crew people who have watched me grow up, you know everybody was very happy and very proud.

“I think for Vince and Hunter themselves, they were just very happy to see that I have finally kind of grown up and realised the potential they had seen in me all those years ago.”
