Reportedly, Mike Tyson has been offered a mind-blowing £16m to make a comeback and compete in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship promotion.
A social media post of Tyson working out on pads went viral last week and offered a slight glimpse into how 'The Baddest Man on the Planet' has retained his awesome speed and power.
This has given fans hope that a return is still a possibility, at the age of 53, and has had the boxing world clamouring for a comeback.
In the video, the former heavyweight champion reminded the public just how good he is and why he knocked out 44 opponents throughout a storied 20-year career.
According to American news outlet Heavy.com, the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship president David Feldman has reached out to Iron Mike for a possible fight in the promotion.
The deal on the table supposedly includes an option for Tyson to choose his opponent from a shortlist of talent that are already signed to the promotion.
In the interview, Feldman stated: “While we did make a guaranteed offer of $20m for Mike [Tyson] to fight for BKFC, we're open to many different options as to how we can work together.
“Obviously, the excitement of seeing Mike's video showing himself training and desire to participate in exhibitions inspired us to reach out and make the offer.”
A bare-knuckle fight in the promotion only runs for 10 minutes so concerns over Mike Tyson’s stamina, or lack thereof, has been somewhat tempered.
This offer comes after Mike Tyson was offered to fight New Zealand rugby union legend Sonny Bill Williams in a charity bout.
It has been said that Tyson would only consider a return to the squared circle to compete in charity fights.
After wowing fans the world over with the sparring video, Melbourne boxing promoter Brian Amatruda has since got in contact with Tyson over a possible fight.
Amatruda has reportedly proposed Williams as well as other options that include former rugby league star Paul Gallen or retired Aussie Rules footballer Barry Hall.
The promoter is confident that any charity bout earmarked for Tyson in Melbourne would fill any of the city’s arenas.
The promoter said: “I'd hold it at Melbourne Arena where we'd get over 10,000 or even Princes Park where they got 30,000 for Jeff Fenech versus Azumah Nelson.
“He might be 53 years old but he's still a huge name and any of those blokes - Hall, Gallen or Sonny Bill - would jump at the chance to get into the ring with him.
“I'd make it part of a card with a world title fight for Tayla (Harris) on it. It would be enormous. Not just a fight, it would be an event.”
