Angel Di Maria absolutely despised his season with Manchester United and he hasn't been shy about it.
The Red Devils looked to have pulled off one of the greatest signings in Premier League history when they snapped up the Argentine from Real Madrid and presented him with the iconic No. 7 jersey.
But six years on from his arrival and the transfer looks like a complete disaster, culminating in United making a loss by selling him to Paris Saint-Germain after just one season and 32 appearances.
Since then, Di Maria seems to have taken out his anger on United as much as possible, either slamming the experience in interviews or trolling their fans when he returns to Old Trafford.
But for every barb that Di Maria has thrown at the club, we're not sure he's ever gone as far as his wife, Jorgelina Cardoso, did this week during an interview with Los Angeles de la Manana.
Manchester branded a 's***hole'
"It was horrible!" Di Maria's spouse remarked. "All of it was horrible, we went to the house and we were like 'see you later guys, we're out of here'. When we left, I said to him, 'go to any country - except England’.
"Anyway, one year later and there we were in Manchester, a sh*thole. I didn't like anything about it, not a thing.
"The women are all skinny, prim and proper... weird. You're walking down the street and you don't know if they're going to kill you or what. The food's disgusting.
"All the girls are all dolled up to the nines, perfectly made up and there's me with my hair in a bun and with no make-up on."
Gary Neville responds in style
Wowsers. Naturally, the comments spread like wildfire on social media and United legend Gary Neville was one of the biggest names to pick up on them.
As well as having played at Old Trafford for over 20 years, Neville is Greater Manchester born and bred, so decided to launch a passionate rebuttal. during an appearance on Sky Sports
"I don’t know what she means Geoff," Neville said. "We hear these stories from time to time, where a player's played like a drain, like Di Maria did at Manchester United, he was awful.
"And I had great expectations and sort of excitement when he came to the club thinking we’d signed a top player. But he was never interested from day one.
Comparisons to Aguero and Zabaleta
"And what I would say is, maybe what he needs to do is look across the road at Sergio Aguero, his Argentinian compatriot, or Pablo Zabaleta, who’ve done alright in Manchester over the years and don’t seem to be in a rush to leave.
"I will defend my city to the hilt. I think she had a bad experience and she did have an unfortunate experience obviously where there was a robbery which really would hamper your view mentally.
"So I think that probably clouds her view in terms of the city, ‘cause I think there’s some decent folk around here."

Di Maria's vendetta
It goes without saying that being burgled is always going to give you a negative view of the city it took place in, so all the sympathy in the world there, but you can't help feeling that the criticism has gone too far at times.
Perhaps Di Maria in particular could be forgiven for speaking so damningly about United if he actually had a high horse to spout it from in a world where he actually played well in England.
If only that was the case...
