We all know Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have dominated world football for more than a decade now.

However, the two superstars are into their thirties and won’t be at the top of the sport for too much longer.

So, who is going to take their throne and be able to claim their the best player in the world?

Well, the likes of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe already look like Ballon d’Or winners in the making.

But what about player even younger than those two wonderkids?

They’ve ranked the top 50 teenagers in the world right now.

The players have to be born in 2001 and later - meaning the likes of Haaland and Mbappe don’t qualify.

But many of you may not have heard of Rayan Cherki, who finds himself at No.1.

The Frenchman is just 16-years-old and has already played 12 times in all competitions for Lyon this season, scoring three goals.

In January, he was involved in all four of Lyon's goals in a 4–3 win over Nantes in a Coupe de France match, scoring a brace and assisted the other two.

The attacking midfielder in highly-rated in France and he’s already rated at around £20 million by Transfermarkt.

Of course, a lot can happen to his career in the next few years but it seems Cherki is destined for greatness.
