Arguably one of WWE's biggest PPV’s on paper Money In The Bank took place last night, and, although missing a sell-out capacity crowd, it didn’t disappoint.
WWE superstar MVP made a sporadic appearance last night at the event, in which he scathed fellow performer R-Truth in a comedic, yet hard-hitting, promo.
R-Truth has proved time and time again over the course of his career that he can adapt to more or less anything Vince McMahon wants him to be.
Some years back, Truth’s ‘Lil Jimmy’ gimmick was a hit with fans and was a stable for him to showcase his comedic talents.
Years later, and still the company’s ‘go to’ for comic relief, Truth didn’t disappoint when confronted by MVP at the MITB PPV.
In what was a scheduled match-up between the two, things turned south for Truth as he was told to get out of MVP’s face amongst heeding a tirade of abuse about the way he looked and acted, making reference to his ‘thug-wannabe’ appearance.
MVP replaced himself as Truth’s opponent for the night with WWE superstar Bobby Lashley, with whom, Truth provided yet more comedy gold.
In what was a short-lived match, both MVP and Lashley got over in true heel fashion, whilst Truth kept his stock high as an in-ring comedy genius.
MVP has been back in the company in recent months, providing sporadic appearances after spending several years on the independent circuit. He appears to be in good shape and, as can be seen from his promo with R-Truth, hasn’t lost a beat on the microphone.
Still seemingly looking for a meaningful programme to work, MVP looks like he may stick around for a little while longer, which will no-doubt excite a paying audience when arenas open their doors once more.
