The sporting world pricked up their ears when Mike Tyson said he wanted to return to boxing.'Iron Mike' remains one of the most recognisable faces in all of sport after rising to fame during the 1980s as a knockout artist and the youngest heavyweight champion in history. But after three defeats during his final four professional fight as well as some worrying comments about his mental health, it was assumed that Tyson would never compete again. However, Tyson seems to have done a complete 180 by suggesting he could return in exhibition matches, a prospect made all the more tempting by Evander Holyfield's contemporaneous return. The American told Facebook Gaming: "I feel unstoppable now. The gods of war have reawakened me. They’ve ignited my ego and want me to go to war again.”

Tyson back in boxing?

So, how good would Tyson actually be if he pulled on the gloves again? You don't loose certain aspects of your game like power, but we're talking about somebody aged 53 here.

Well, Tyson seems to have sent a message to all of his doubters by uploading a menacing training compilation on Instagram on Monday night.

Featuring vicious clips of him on the pads, Tyson captioned it by saying: "Anything is possible when you are smart about it. Train Smart. Recover Smarter."

Looking good in the gloves

It would be fair to say that Tyson is still one of the baddest men on the planet.

Although we're sure a 53-year-old, no matter how talented, couldn't compete with heavyweights in their prime, we're pretty certain he could give most of his contemporaries a run for their money.

People like you and I certainly wouldn't want to be on the end of some of those hooks, that's for sure.
