Premier League players will be told to turn their faces away after they have been tackled in order to minimise the spread of Covid-19 when the season resumes, according to reports.Top-flight captains will hold a video conference call with league and government officials on Wednesday, where Project Restart talks will take place.And according to the Telegraph, the new measures on tackling will be introduced as part of significant ‘cultural changes’ that must be accepted if football is to resume before the end of the year.The Premier League are keen to ease the growing health fears during two meetings - another one will be held with the 20 managers - but will also point out that the football may not be played if its plans are rejected.Some players have voiced their concerns about returning, including Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose.“Football shouldn't even be spoken about until the numbers have dropped massively," Rose, currently on loan at Newcastle United, said, per BBC Sport. "People's lives are at risk."On Saturday, a third Brighton player tested positive for coronavirus.The news prompted Norwich City’s Todd Cantwell to write on Twitter: “We are just people too.”
Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero has admitted players are “scared” about returning amid the pandemic, while his teammate Raheem Sterling also shared concerns.
“The moment we do go back it just needs to be a moment where it's not just for footballing reasons; it's safe for not just us footballers but the whole medical staff, referees,” Sterling said on his YouTube channel, per BBC Sport.
"I feel like once that side of the people's safety and the players' safety is secured, and their wellbeing is looked after, then that's the right time to go back in.
"Until then, I'm - how can I say - not scared, but reserved and thinking what the worst outcome could be.”
