Mesut Ozil is one of those players who divides opinion.

On his day, the German is one of the best playmakers in world football. When it’s not his day, though, he offers very little.

He’s now been in England for almost seven years and has shown glimpses of his brilliance in an Arsenal shirt.

He’s even become renowned for producing one very special skill - the Ozil bounce.

This involves the No.10 kicking the ball into the ground, causing the ball to bounce up unexpectedly.

We’ve seen Ozil score numerous goals by using this technique as it bamboozles the goalkeeper, who certainly isn't expecting it.

The first few times we saw Ozil do it, many fans thought it was a fluke and that he had simply mishit the ball.

But that simply wasn’t the case.

And now, a compilation video has emerged showing the numerous times Ozil has produced his trademark skill.

Whether it’s playing a through ball to a teammate or scoring past a goalkeeper, Ozil uses his unique skill brilliantly.

You certainly don’t see any other player in world football pulling it off.

While Ozil has been doing his skill for many years, it was something that Ian Wright brought to light on Match of the Day last season after he scored against Bournemouth.

"He bounces it on purpose. He did it against Huddersfield and he kicked down on it against Bournemouth," Wright said.

"Instead of chipping it over a keeper he bounces it over him. You can see him telling everyone what he did [while celebrating].

"It's just such a brave finish for someone to do. It's brilliant. It's the Ozil."

Ozil has actually previously explained why he does this bounce skill.

"When you make a chip, sometimes the defender can clear it because the ball goes slowly to the goal," Ozil explained.

"When when the bounce it, the ball goes quicker and the goalkeeper never expects it."

Genius.
