Carlos Tevez's spell at Manchester United was rocky to say the least.The Argentine thrived in his first season at the club, forming a fearsome partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney in attack.However, Man United's hesitance to make Tevez's move permanent annoyed him and he went on to join their bitter rivals Manchester City.Neville called his former teammate out earlier this week for 'downing tools' before his departure."What annoyed me about Tevez was he downed tools in his second season, that and sitting on the treatment bench, starting coming out late for training, started messing around, he was playing the club," he said."I felt disappointed that, as a professional, he didn't act the right way."Sky Sports invited Kia Joorabchian, Tevez's agent, on to Sky Sports' The Football Show on Friday morning and he fired back at Neville.He said: "I think Neville was wrong. I often let things go..."But when you go after somebody and you make a lot of wrong and incorrect statements, letting it go will not do a benefit to the public listening to fake information.
"In terms of the people he claimed were talking in his ear – who and what was said? Unless you were hacking him or taping him he couldn’t have known what they were saying."Gary making those comments of [Tevez's] second year, he is questioning whether Fergie had finger to pulse."Sir Alex would not have picked someone 51 times if they were downing tools or being unprofessional unless Gary thinks Sir Alex took his eye off ball."
As Neville fired back, Carragher then started chowing down on popcorn, making both Neville and Joorabchian laugh.
Neville didn't back down, though. He appreciated that he may have been a little harsh but still mentioned that he was disinterested.
"No doubt in last few months of the season Carlos became disinterested and more sulky that the club weren’t signing him," he said.
"Down tools' might be crass but Carlos was distracted, different, not anywhere near the level in his last four months at club, you must accept that?"
The debate continued with the two men arguing their case.
The exchange made for some great Friday morning TV, with Carragher loving every second of it.
