The Undertaker apologised to Roman Reigns for his performance in what should have been his retirement match at WrestleMania 33.

In never-before-seen footage that will air on Sunday during episode two of 'The Last Ride', Mark Calaway is seen in conversation with The Big Dog 12 months later.

After bumping into The Deadman backstage at 'Mania 34, Reigns said: "You look great, man!"

Undertaker replied: "I felt so bad about last year. I just want you to know, that bothers me."

"No, no," Reigns replied before 'Taker interrupted with: "I didn’t have it, you know that."

Both men were all smiles as they finished their conversation, before embracing and going their separate ways.

While it's clear Reigns holds no grudges for Undertaker's appearance at WrestleMania 33, Calaway himself has admitted he was 'disgusted' with his performance.

"I was so disgusted with it that I didn’t want to watch it back," the WWE icon told ESPN while promoting 'The Last Ride' documentary.

"As I got older... I know when I’m out there and I’m moving slow. I know when my limp is more prominent than it may be. Or when I’m behind in a spot. I just know now.

"[Watching that match], I’m battling with it. I was so disappointed for Roman."

It was that performance that fueled Undertaker's desire to carry on wrestling, rather than walking away in 2017.

The aftermath of that night and the build-up to WrestleMania 34, where 'Taker has a match with John Cena, are both explored during the second episode of 'The Last Ride'.
